Overview:
The Section 508 Technical SME will be responsible for assisting with writing test procedures and protocols to assess product accessibility and evaluates the ability of products to meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 standards and specifications. * Collaborating with other groups to improve or upgrade accessibility features and/or product performance.
Responsibilities:
· Complete accessibility reviews and remediations on a variety of asset types (Docs, PPTs, PDFs) as assigned using the tools and AT listed in the “Minimum Qualifications section” above.
· Support accessibility testing on web sites, SharePoint, and software using the tools and AT listed in the “Minimum Qualifications” section above.
· Support accessibility education and awareness activities as directed.
· Answer accessibility questions and the processing of accessibility tickets as submitted through email, office hours, and the formal ticketing system.
· Act as a liaison on behalf of accessibility to various teams throughout the Agency.
· Serve as an ambassador for accessibility and Section 508 compliance both internally to DFC and, potentially, externally, at virtual events, as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree.
· At least 5 years of experience reviewing Websites for WCAG 2.1 A and AA (or greater) conformance.
· At least 5 years of experience reviewing and remediating PDFs, DOCs, XLSs, PPTs, and emails.
· At least 5 years of experience using common accessibility-testing tools (e.g., Wave, Axe, and Color contrast analyzer).
· At least 5 years of experience using assistive technology for accessibility testing (e.g, NVDA, JAWS, Talkback, and Voiceover).
· Certified in DHS Trusted Tester.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Certifications in by the IAAP
· Experience using SharePoint.
· Experience using Azure.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in a general office environment
- Ability to sit for up to 80% of time
